Disney is all set to bring its on-demand streaming service Plus in India through the platform called Hotstar. Earlier, the company was expected to launch its service by the second half of the year. Surprisingly, the company has decided to launch it a little sooner than expected.
It has been announced that the streaming services of Disney+ will hit Indian screens on March 29. Hotstar, a lesser-known Disney-owned service is known for setting global streaming records. It was reported more than 100 million daily active users.
This online service also features shows and movies from HBO, ABC, and Showtime. It offers its premium version for about $14 a year. Moreover, the charges for Disney+ featuring Hotstar are yet to be revealed. According to Disney’s chief executive Bob Iger, the company has decided to bring two primary products into India. Yes, you read it correctly!
Furthermore, they want to take full advantage of the IPL season and will launch a basic program during the peak period of the Cricket League. Apart from that, just as Hotstar, there are dozens of video streaming services in India like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
