Method 1 Using SP Flash Tools

Pre-Requisites :

Step 1: Install the Lenovo Vibe S1 Driver & Mediatek Driver

Step 2: Extract SP Flash Tools on your desktop

Step 3: Extract TWRP folder on your desktop

Step 4: Open flash_tool.exe from the SP Flash Tools folder and clock Scatter-loading and then browse the TWRP folder and select the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt

Step 5: In the Flash Tool Window Press CTRL + SHIFT + O a new options window will open. Click download and then tick USB Checksum and close the window

Step 6: Now click the download button

Step 7: Switch off your Lenovo Vibe S1 and then connect it using the USB to the computer/laptop

Step 8: You will get the Download Complete window within a moment

 

Lenovo S1 Flash Tool

Method 2 Using Minimal ADB & Fastboot

Pre-Requisites :

Step 1: Extract the files which you downloaded.

Step 2: Copy the recovery.img file to C: Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot or C: Program FilesMinimal ADB and Fastboot directory.

Step 3: Open the C: Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot directory and press and hold the shift key and right click anywhere inside the folder at the space and choose open command window here.

Step 4: Now in CMD type:

ADB devices

Step 5: Now type

ADB reboot bootloader

This will reboot your device into Bootloader / Fastboot Mode.

Step 6: Now type

fastboot boot recovery.img

Once flashed enter the following command to reboot Lenovo A6000.

fastboot reboot

How To Root Lenovo Vibe S1

Pre-Requisites :

Step 1: Copy the downloaded file UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip in the root folder of your SD card.

Step 2: Now in CMD type:

ADB reboot recovery

This will boot Lenovo Vibe S1 into Recovery Mode

Step 3: Once you land into the Recovery Mode, choose install from SD card and choose UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

Step 4: When the installation is done, Reboot your device

Step 5: Download Root Checker app from Play store and check your device root status

    • Right on, mate….Thanks Mohammed…looks like the author forgot to mention about ticked the Storage Checksum too,in which could bricked your phone.
      Such a pity.
      So for all of you guys who wanted to follow the procedure, it’s all good, just don’t forget to TICKED THE USB AND STORAGE CHECKSUM on Option sub-menu, Download.

  2. I tried to unlock using sdk.

    Using “fastboot oem unlock” command
    But it is showing that “oem unlock was disabled” error even after I have enabled OEM unlocking in developer option..

    Please help me

  4. Guys u must press VOLUME UP + POWER UP BUTTON wait like 1 min, after start boot u can format drive or u can turn mobile off and then u can start ur mobile and i can recommand u, format ur mobile after this

    I have fixed my phone infinite loop by going to SP Flash Options>Download> and tick USB Checksum and Storage Checksum and make sure you follow the above steps and choose the scatter-loading file and press download and connect your device .. once it is detected between reboots it will flash recovery after download complete press power button till the device vibrates and it will work

  6. How did you unbricked your phone? mine won’t turn on and keeps vibrating every 2 or 3 mins ;/

  7. Yes i have installed both the drivers, and yes the phone gets recognized in SP also the phone keeps vibrating

  8. Yes I have installed the drivers, lenovo usb and mediatek drivers as well. And the device gets detected in SP flash tool and vibrates in between

  9. i fix my phone hehe finally. careful before you do this, i used all my effort after i brick my fone. now its fine. not gonna do this again

    • download official rom (search in google) and then reflash again your phone using flashtool…it will unbricked your phone,,

      • No. (1) Tried to get back with cwm recovery. (2) Searched the web for Vibe S1 stock ROM… Couldn’t get one.
        Didn’t get anywhere in that approach.

        Then tried the adb way, since the phone didn’t come up, ‘adb devices’ didn’t list the phone. Any hard reset didn’t work either… However, although the display didn’t come up, I did see the phone vibrate a couple of times…

        It’s bricked as of now. Will wait a wider adoption of S1, hopefully there would be a solution.
