MIUI 7 Custom ROM for Lenovo A6000/Plus has a lot of new changes and bug fixes unlike MIUI 6 for previous versions which we had installed earlier, but the ROM is based on MIUI 6 but has most of the MIUI 7 features. A lot of users used to complain that the home screen used to lag, but in this version, the home screen is quite smooth. Also, the RAM which is available is 400-500 MB on first boot. After installing applications which run in the background like Facebook/WhatsApp/true-caller then the available RAM left is 100-200 MB. Overall we have found MIUI 7 to be very attractive, and after 5-6 hours of usage we have found it to be stable in terms of installation and working, but the ROM is bit laggy, we cannot guarantee that it will run smooth and without any glitches but as of now we haven’t found any major bugs. We’ll post the bugs once we find it and will try to get a fix for it too. Till then you can head over straight at the bottom of the post to download the MIUI 7 Custom ROM.

Pre-Requisites :

1. Rooted device – You can read the guide here for rooting your Lenovo A6000/Plus

2. CWM installed – You can follow the tutorial here for installing CWM.

3. Custom Rom of MIUI 7 Custom ROM– Download it from below.

4. Google Services (Gapps) – Download it from here. ( This is the minimal edition)

5. Backup all your data.

How to install MIUI 7 Custom ROM for Lenovo A6000/Plus:

Step 1: Copy both the files to your SD card

Step 2: Boot into Recovery (Follow the guide to goto recovery)

Step 3:  Please take an entire backup of your current ROM through the CWM menu. So that you can restore it back if you fail to install the vivo custom ROM.

Step 4: Enter recovery

Step 5: Make full wipe including “system.”

Step 6: Flash the ROM and then the update

Step 7: Flash the gapps.

Step 8: Reboot (the first boot can take up to 2 minutes)

UPDATE & REVIEW

  • After 3rd party application installation we found the performance to be going down rapidly
  • RAM left is 100-200 after using few apps like facebook/truecaller/messenger
  • The custom rom is attractive but slow
  • Performance cannot be guaranteed as there are lots of background services running
  • Battery backup is good if you’re not using tremendously

    3) Stock Clock crashes.
    4) around 1.1 GB of free RAM on Lenovo A6000+

    6) Most of the system messages/notifications appear in CHINESE.

    but the problem was that some things are in Chinese like theme app…
    at starting it was showing in english but after connecting to net it changes in chinese.

I have this issue wherein I am unable to update the ROM with the OTA that is available (29MB download) after downloading it the phone reboots into CWM recovery and attempts to install however after 10% it aborts. Gives a message about this ROM being for something else and we have KRAFT (something like that). Is there any way or maybe a tutorial so that we can implement this OTA download into a patch that we can compile and install ourselves instead of waiting for techolite admins to make the updates available ?

    But I must also comment that techolite has done a commendable job of posting ported ROMs of Lenovo A6000 which are not even available on MIUI forum.

    This ROM with 5.8.20 is awesome with graphics and sound has also improved from the speakerphone. The sound of videos and music is now heavier and richer and the BASS is also quiet eminent unlike in previous ports.

    Though I have noted that with earlier ROMs the battery was not draining as fast as with this new ROM. Now I am getting a max of 7 hours from 100% to 5%. Nothing has changed — I still do about an hour of calling, listening to music via Bluetooth streaming for about 2-3 hours (approx. time taken from home to office and back home via car), 3G is always ON, Wifi is ON for about 30 mins, another 30 mins of Gaming (Clash of Clans), Screen On Time (SOT) is around 2hrs.

    With the earlier v6 ROM I was getting a good 12-13 hours with same usage infact the calling was more with dual sim. I have the same settings for Hibernate of most apps and also checked the Wakelocks.

    Awaiting for the Update desperately and this time can you please update in such a way that we can download the OTA directly from the MIUI updater app instead of doing a full download of the ROM and then flashing from CWM once again.

  7. in my lenovo a6000+ rom available for use is only 5 gb. bt i have 16 gb rome in lenovo a6000+ and in stock rom i can use 11.32 gb out of 16 .

  9. first of all I would like to thank the admin for giving roms continuously , while no other sites posting roms of Lenovo phones..
    actually custom roms are my weakness..I’ve tried all the roms…
    my review on this miui 7 rom
    pros :-
    1.very attractive UI
    2.colouful themes
    3.new features which vive UI doesn’t have like compass and camera interface
    4.battery backup is good
    5.status bar, lock screen,other miui apps are really awesome.
    cons:-
    1.ram consumption is very high
    2.large apps like facebook and high end games are not even opening
    3.playstore apps are not downloading via mobile data and it will keep asks you to connect wifi
    4.showing full signal polls even though there is no signals
    5.auto brightness function is not woking
    6.proximity sensor function is wrong. i.e it is keep on working even when talking talking with earphones.
    7.some times screen is suddenly going blank and not responding for 1 min.
    8.if any app ot force cloased, the touch buttons are not working for a while.
    finally my conclusion on this rom is..if u want a great ui and don’t care about performance then mi is the best rom and go for it..if you want full performance then go for cm 11 or pacman…

  12. Nice rom but I’m getting Gsensor lag… So I’m back to stock rom
    Btw any fix for gsensor lag? I’m using a6000 plus
    Can you make a flashable zip file for all roms to fix this problem?
    I saw a post on xda related this issue and it is possible to create a zip file from stock rom to fix this…
    So please make it for our device.

    • We’re trying to figure this problem out. It is really strange Google Chrome is blocking most of the links. Even though they are scanned and clean. Please try to download using a different browser. Also can you please let us know if Chrome is blocking the Gapps files which you’re downloading?

  14. Installed on my k30-W been playing with if for a while about 3-4 hours

    one of the few ROMS that techolite actually got it right when they say its stable rom, however bare in mind its listed as BETA in rom info

    Everything works, SMS, phone calling , audio clatriy,camera …etc

    really brings out the beauty of Lenovo a6000/k30-W, no bloatware, some appls related to MIUI but can be easily removed, afterwards there wont be any chinese stuff, also the software installed is mature with some nice tricks, for example the front camera have an option for detecting age and gender from face detection.

    however it have only 1 con:
    MIUI loves to utilize all the RAM, in CM11, which was buggy abit, i had 500 system and 400 RAM free , in this ROM expect only 200-300 MB RAM free, however when the OS (MIUI ) is being loaded into RAM its smooth, also note that MIUI comes with more tools, but if you want to install 3rd party apps and games, for example fall out shelter it will work, but not as smooth as it was in CM11, i noticed a slight decrease in performance

    Also on an another unrelated note, u was very pleased with Helium_1.1.4 backup of apps and data, its was amazing reliable, when i moved between ROMS it worked and restored many apps and there data flawlessly, and it have cool web admin interface.

        Trust me when you provide an easy interface, and an easy download link for users to update from and instructions, while we both know is the raw data that we have to scatter for is hidden underneath a weird social Chinese sites, that are not western friendly at all, and even when using Google translate, you end up analyzing 1 page for atleast 15 mins just to get the big picture , and start learning new google translated language “happy Brush :)”

        i tested the other MIUI rom, but IMO the above is the best for me since i have 1GB RAM, if i have 2GB RAM, i would definitely go with this MIUI 7.
