How To Fix The Status 101 While Installing OTA Update On Lenovo A6000/Plus

METHOD 1 (Very Simple and Convenient)

Step 1: Install Lollipop Stock Recovery (Follow the guide here)

Step 2: Reboot your device and then go to System Update and download the update and install it.

Step 3: You are done

METHOD 2 (Download and Flash the update using Recovery)

If you are running on Kraft-A6000_S052_150825 then you can update your device to Kraft-A6000_S054_150915 which was released on 15th September 2015 and is the latest version so far.

Step 1: Install Lollipop Stock Recovery (Follow the guide here)

Step 2: Download the latest update Kraft-A6000_S054_150915 from here and copy it to your SD Card

Step 3: Switch off your device and then press Volume up + Volume down + Lock Button together for 3-5 seconds

Step 4: Now you will see Stock recovery menu where you will have to select update from sd card and then select update.zip and flash

Step 5: Once done, reboot and you will be on the latest version of Lollipop on your Lenovo A6000

There is another method if you want to freshly install the Latest Lollipop 5.0.2 Kraft-A6000_S054_150915 by downloading the entire package and flashing it using stock recovery. But for that, you should be on stock KitKat ROM on your device to be able to upgrade to Lollipop latest version on Lenovo A6000.

  1. Download the entire Lenovo A6000 Lollipop 5.0.2 Kraft-A6000_S054_150915 and copy it to your SD Card
  2. Install Stock recovery on your device
  3.  Switch off your device and then press Volume up + Volume down + Lock Button together for 3-5 seconds
  4.  Now you will see Stock recovery menu where you will have to select update from sd card and then select Kraft-A6000_S054_150915_techolite.COM and flash it
  5. Reboot your device (Note it might take 2-5 minutes to boot and another 2-3 minutes to upgrade the applications)
